Your Chiropractic Test

A short while ago, we discussed the benefits to the NeuroInfiniti tests at the Lake of the Ozarks that we perform at Absolute Wellness Center when clients first begin with us. This test is used to help measure your physiological stress response and can be incredibly beneficial. This is a 12 minute, computerized test, it’s non-invasive, and uses basic instruments found in research facilities around the world. A few sensors will be placed on your head, shoulders, forearms, and hands. But the biggest question is, what do the results of this show us? Here are a few things you may find helpful when deciding if this would be a good route for you on your health journey, or after you’ve received your results and just need to process them.

The NeuroInfiniti Measures

There are several things that this test will measure, so take a few minutes to become aquatinted with the phrases and terms before your first appointment! This will make your first chiropractic appointment at the Lake of the Ozarks even easier to understand and take in.

Brain Waves
This portion of the exam shows the ability of the brain to be busy and to rest when necessary. We will perform a basic math test, and the stress of this event, as well as noises, and breathing require brain activity. The stress increases your Beta, while the period of being relaxed increases the Alpha/Theta portion of your brain.

Heart Rate Variability
HRV (Heart Rate Variability) is a very effective way to measure how stress impacts your life. Research has shown that HRV can also be a great addition to chiropractic care.

Heart Rate
It’s no surprise that your heart rate is a powerful way to show good health responses. Of course, just taking a person’s pulse isn’t enough information to tell us what happens during stressful situations. Your heart rate does, however, give us a chance to see what causes your heart to speed up and how quickly it can return to normal. There is a direct relationship between breathing and heart rates.

Skin Conductance
This is the amount of moisture that is produced on your skin by your sweat glands. We specifically test on your hands because they show a direct result of the stress that you are experiencing. More hand moisture means higher stress responses.

Temperature
It’s normal for your body to respond to stress by withdrawing blood volume from your extremities and pooling it into the organs. When this happens, the temperatures in your hands and feet drops.

Respiration Rate
You probably notice that your breathing changes while you're exerting your self, like when exercising. However, did you ever consider it a measurement of health? There is a relationship between stress and oxygen requirements, and your respiratory rate is very important. There is also a pattern of breathing, and it’s equally important compared to your chest elevation versus diaphragmatic breathing.

Muscle Activity
Measuring your muscle activity throughout the body in both relaxed resting mode or in active motion mode can be a great way to measure stress response. The trapezius and the muscles of the face are good indicators of over-tightened muscles due to stress response.

The Best Part

The best part of this is that this is a test that you don’t have to study for. There is really nothing you can do right now to prepare for this test, and you can’t ace it. This is merely an evaluation of where your body stands in regards to stress response and recovery. So, kick back, try to ignore the sensors that are attached to your skin, and be prepared to let your mind respond to some very subtly stressful situations! We look forward to reviewing your results with you and helping you achieve your health goals through our guiding plan. Your next appointment is where we will do your first chiropractic adjustment at the Lake of the Ozarks, and we look forward to serving you in this new health journey that you are on.
