Ways to Reduce Stress in the Workplace

This week (September 23rd through the 27th) is International Week of Happiness at Work, and it seems like an appropriate time to address the topic of stress at work. There are many causes of stress in the workplace, some could include juggling work and personal lives (20%), a lack of job security (6%), but the big hitters are people issues (28%), and workload (46%). Those percentages came from the American Institute of Stress, and they also show that 62% of employees end the day with work-related neck pain, experience trouble sleeping, have stressed-out eyes, and hurting hands - many even call in sick because of job stress. This is a BIG epidemic among employees and employers, and it can be invaluable for people to learn how to not only cope with stress well but also find techniques to rise above it and have the feeling of a meaningful and purpose-filled life.
