Using X-Rays to Aid in Chiropractic Healing

Why x-rays? FAQs About X-Rays

We take x-rays on all clients, with only a few exceptions. An x-ray allows us to better asses your structural framework and develop the most effective care plans. Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions about chiropractic care and x-rays:

Why Are X-Rays Important?
X-rays give us a visual as to what’s happening with your spine. It allows us to see the health of your spine, as well as any fracture, dislocations, subluxations, arthritis, infections, or tumors that could be present.

Will My Results Be Available Immediately?
We take time o to develop your x-rays personally so your results will not be available the same day. We will schedule a follow-up appointment with you at our Lake of the Ozarks chiropractic office where we will discuss your x-rays as well as the results from other tests that we will perform on the initial visit.

What Should I Wear for My X-Ray?You’ll want to wear easy to remove clothing. We provide a robe and a private dressing area for you before your x-ray. You’ll want to remove all metal, so plan ahead before your appointment to not wear (or remove beforehand) jewelry, and choose clothing that is easy to work with.

Are X-Rays Required
This is going to be determined by your doctor. There are a few exceptions, but as a general rule, x-rays are required for every patient.

The Elephant In the Room …
We want to take just a second to talk about radiation because it can be the biggest concern with x-rays. Fears of x-rays are valid, there are some slight risks, but those are taken into consideration by our team before prescribing that you need one. In addition, advances in technology, better films, and screens can put out significantly less radiation than those of years past. We will always put your health first.
