So, grab a glass of water and enjoy!

7 Ways That Drinking Water Helps Your Health

Your body is around 60% water - so it only makes sense that replenishing that water regularly can have incredible benefits.

#1. Improves Your Activity Level
Not drinking enough water? Your physical performance may be suffering. Dehydration can have a noticeable effect after losing just 2% of your body’s water content - but most athletes can lose up to 6-10% just from sweat.

#2. Hydration Affects Your Energy and Brain Function
Did you know that a study of young women showed that a fluid loss of 1.36% after exercise impaired both mood and concentration, as well as increased the frequency of headaches? A similar study of young men showed that 1.59% had a detrimental effect on working memory and increased feelings of anxiety and fatigue.

#3. Headaches?
Dehydration has been shown to trigger headaches and migraines in some people. This doesn’t include all, as other studies have shown that proper hydration didn’t affect the frequency of the headaches, but did affect the intensity and duration.

#4. Drinking More Water Can Improve Weight Loss
Some studies show dieters who drink half a liter of water before meals lost 44% more weight over 12 weeks. There are several reasons for this. One is that water can increase satiety, as well as boost your metabolic rate.

How To Improve the Quality of Your Water

Now that we know the importance of drinking water, it’s valuable to learn how to make your water worth drinking. Unclean water can cause a host of issues, so whether you are drinking city tap water or from the well on your property, it’s still important to know what’s in your water.

Boiling
This is an old faithful way to purify your water. Of course, in the dead of summer, it may not be as practical because it uses fuel, takes a while, and can heat your house up. You’ll also still want to filter boiled water to remove any solid particles.

Iodine
Iodine solution, tablets, or crystals can kill viruses and bacteria and are also available in many different forms - which can help your budget. You do have to think ahead, though. After adding iodine, you must wait thirty minutes before drinking the treated water, and it’s not suitable for pregnant women.

Chlorine Drops
Similar to iodine, you still have to wait after adding chlorine, but it can kill bacteria in water, as well as being lightweight, affordable, and accessible. You also need to read the instructions carefully, as too much can be poisonous.

Water Filter
This is a great way to remove bacteria, chemicals, awful tastes, and viruses from your water. They are also ready to be consumed as soon as it’s filtered and will improve the taste. The downside is that they can be heavier than tablets, and will require replacement filters or cleaning the filter.

Ultraviolet Light
Similar to a small flashlight, you just swish this device in your water for a few minutes and the bacteria can be killed. It’s easy to carry will you, but will need batteries to operate. This option also doesn’t filter solid particles.

Clean Water Is Essential

Because each person on earth requires t least 20-50 liters of clean, safe water a day for drinking, cooking, and keeping clean - it’s essential.
